Brad Beyer on GMToday.com

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Brad Beyer, who plays Stanley Richmond on Jericho, was interviewed recently in Greater Milwaukee Today by Melissa Rigney Baxter. While he’s mum on any spoilers for the upcoming Spring Season, the article does give a little insight as to why he wanted the role.

“It’s really about a town coming together at a lot of levels, trying to find the bright side of the situation. It’s a lot about family,” said Beyer, who plays farmer Stanley Richmond.

Although there are scary elements of the show, including news that major cities such as Denver, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Chicago have been hit by nuclear bombs, the true stories revolve around the way the town of Jericho has banded together, survived and helped one another.

The biggest thing that impressed me was how completely down to earth Brad Beyer seems, compared to most up and coming actors out there. It’s nice to see that he still makes time for his family even though he’s on a popular television show.

Jericho Has Optimistic Outlook

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Whoever thought that Jericho, a show which started out with a nuclear bomb detonation, would be considered one of the more optimistic programs out there this television season? Maureen Ryan from the Chicago Tribune is saying just that, while discussing the fact that the nuclear fear that’s pervading our culture is getting more and more blatant with shows like 24, Heroes and Jericho.

“Jericho,” the show that deals most heavily with the post-nuclear scenario, is, strangely enough, often the most optimistic of the three shows. At one point last fall, the residents of Jericho set up an impromptu post-blast barbecue in the town square (the local grocery store’s supplies would have otherwise rotted).

While I don’t really see it as that simplistic, but she does go on to say that while we in reality wouldn’t be that calm and rational, we want our television counterparts to be that “noble” about everything. It’s our way of dealing with things that we really don’t want to.

Jericho Plays in New Zealand

Monday, February 5th, 2007

Great news for all the potential fans of Jericho in New Zealand… Jericho will premiere in New Zealand on February 11, 2007 on TV3, Morph Blog is reporting.

I have been fortunate enough to see the first few episodes of this series already, and i must admit i’m impressed so far.

Anyway the pilot episode for the programme airs here in New Zealand on Sunday 11th February at 9.30pm on TV3

I’ve always felt a little badly for people who get inundated with all of the promotions for new shows when you have no idea if or when you’re going to be able to see them on television wherever it is that you live. Thank god for the internet and the fact that CBS has been releasing the full shows on their site.

Ashley Scott Makes BuddyTV’s Hotlist

While most things that I find about the actors on Jericho are either about Skeet Ulrich (who plays Jake Green) or Lennie James (who plays Robert Hawkins), and while I love those guys, it is nice to see the girls getting some attention.

BuddyTV.com spotlights different actors from the television series that it covers, and Ashley Scott, who plays Emily Sullivan, has made their “Hot List this time, along with Skeet Ulrich.

The article details her growing up in Metairie, Louisiana and her modeling career before moving into acting. Some of the tidbits that they have there is:

Previously, she entered a Millie Lewis Talent Competition where she won despite forgetting her lines. Shortly, she joined the Elite Miami and became an active catalogue model as well as a Giorgio Red spokesmodel. In addition, she also modeled internationally, graced the catwalk of Miami, Paris and London, and appeared in numerous magazines.

The first place that I remember seeing her was on the wonderful but short-lived Birds of Prey, though it did take me a little while to recognize her on Jericho with her (naturally?) blond hair.

Interview with John Turteltaub

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

turtletaub.jpgiFMagazine.com has an exclusive interview Jericho Executive Producer and Director John Turteltaub, where he hints at the idea of a second season of Jericho while discussing his upcoming movie, National Treasure 2.

“I will mostly be shooting toward the end of hiatus, and I’ll be in editing when they start up again,” says Turteltaub, which if you’re reading through the lines folks, means that there’s a solid chance for JERICHO to return for a second season.

He also talks about how much fun it is to work on Jericho, when initially he thought that all he would do would have been to stick around for a couple of episodes, then phase out the majority of his participation, but it was too much fun to work on the show.
