Could Jericho Move?

Carol Barbee recently gave an interview with SCI FI Wire which lends itself to what happens if CBS drops the ball again, which could be a move to the SciFi Channel.
Just in case CBS does pull the trigger on Jericho, Barbee said she’s already begun looking for a new home on cable television. “There were other people who were interested in us to begin with, and now, I think, with the whole nuts [fan] campaign, and also with the amazing reviews that we’ve gotten for these seven episodes, I feel like we have made this franchise more valuable to a cable network who would want to take us on as a niche market,” Barbee said.
She goes on to talk about the fact that SciFi is a natural network to look to, since they have been airing reruns from the first season.
So tell me, what do you think of the possibility of moving to SciFi? I know that some of my favorite shows have done this before (Stargate: SG1, anyone?) with success.

I would watch Jericho on whatever channel its on. My hope is that someone will pick it up and that the cast will stay with it. There is just so much more story to tell. I hate all the reality tv that’s on and so keeping a quality story line show, is important I think. I love Jericho! Here’s hoping!

I hope it stays on CBS and they don’t drop it again, I love this show and with they would get off this Nielsens rating crap, its old technology. If the do drop it I would watch in on Sci-fi if they pick it up or for that fact any station that would pick it up. Plus I would hope if that happens that all the cast stays….it just wouldn’t be the same without them….

Why keep watching Jericho?
They have totally trashed the show. First, Gerald Mcraney; now they have killed off Shoshannah Stern’s character, Bonnie.
And, the show looks as if it is being videotaped on a used videocam bought in a Hollywood pawn shop.
These idiots in Hollywood don’t seem to understand that they build and keep an audience with characters that viewers can eiter identify with or like as the person they portray. They’ve knocked off two very good, solid characters. And they have left the town at the hands of a two-bit dictator wearing a uniform.
TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE that Americans would turn their guns on Americans just because they are in uniforms and can pretend to be the ‘good guys.’ Who’s writing this crap, a room full of conspiracy theory nuts who believe the internet garbage about 9/11?
What next, nuke the town?

I hope that Sci Fi picks it up! It’s a great show. Ratings systems may be the best we have, but they are flawed at best. It’s a shame CBS doesn’t stick it out.

I would love for SciFi to pick this up. In fact, if it were not for the SciFi reruns, I would not have been able to enjoy this new season. Did CBS have reruns of Jericho before the 2nd season began? I never heard about it if it did. I’m a new fan of Jericho and I absolutely LOVE it! Unfortunately, because it airs on Tuesdays I have to watch it via DVR because I work late on those nights (and Fridays too), but I have been careful to watch some commercials and to support the sponsors as much as possible. Heck, what I pay for cable alone is ridiculous. Why not buy a few extra items if I enjoy a show. Long live Jericho!

To JW: by the way, I’m from New Orleans. If you had said this five years ago, I’d been on YOUR bandwagon. Katrina has taught me this: You better own a gun, you better know how to shoot and you better be ready to protect yourself and your family because the truth is the government can’t protect you. People lose their minds and do terrible things when they feel they have no choice. Heck, they were stealing huge televisions during the flood and we didn’t even have power! I know people who were on the police force who have told me stories you would not believe and that I will not repeat here. Trust me, sweetie, don’t be so naive.

I will support this show wherever it is aired. I think the writing is phenomal, and the acting is first rate as well.

A move to Sci Fi Channel would be an excellent idea; I would not, however, mind a Serenity-type blow-it-all-up show-it-in-theaters film.
(Speaking of blowing it all up, Hawkins’ bomb is now the biggest Chekhov’s Gun in the history of entertainment.)
It’s good to note that Jericho owes its spiritual heritage to Robert Heinlein, one of the more prolific AND successful writers of hard science fiction. Fans of Jericho probably already know this; however, if you’ve not read Heinlein, start with The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, then Starship Troopers.

SCI-FI CHANNEL WOULD BE GREAT, I AM A LOYAL FAN OF BOTH OF THE STARGATE SHOWS AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE A REAL NETWORK TAKE OVER A SHOW OF THIS ONES POTENTIAL. WE ALL KNOW C.B.S. DIDNT KNOW HOW TO USE IT.
