Jericho Vs. Heroes - Who Wins?
Matthew Wayne Selznick may have a point, though I adore both shows.
“Jericho, on the other hand, I was apathetic toward, then intrigued… and now I’m engaged. Much slower than “Heroes, and that’s all right, because it’s focused on character conflict and growth. People are changing for better and for worse, and characters are making choices that drive the plot, not the other way around. And maybe it says more about me than it does about these television shows, but I have yet to say, “Well, I saw that coming watching an episode of “Jericho.
Go read the whole thing, and let him know what you think. Using the phrase “social science fiction” to describe Jericho is one of those things that makes me love the internet.

Not sure if you disagree, or you’re just delighted!
“Jericho” is science fiction, though — or at least “speculative fiction,” which I always thought was all fiction, anyway.
It’s more science fiction than, say, “Battlestar Galactica” or, of course, “Heroes,” at least.
Note: that is not necessarily a slam on either of those shows..!

Actually, I was agreeing.
I love that phrase to describe the show, and I do think you’re dead-on for your opinions on both shows. Post-apocalyptic stories are not any less sci-fi than BSG or Stargate.
I don’t think that you’ve slammed any show, but of course, I’m a “warts and all” kinda gal, so I just see it as the truth.

JERICHO is much more my kind of show AND it doesn’t hurt that Gerald McRaney is in it!

I’ve yet to watch Jericho although I’ve been meaning to. It was one of those shows that was a little to vague in the beginning to catch my interest. I’m looking for a marathon or something to allow me to play catch up or possible blow a few bucks on iTunes to see if it catches my fancy.
btw. Heroes is better regardless, but I may be a bit biased
